This federal Tax Day, the 99% are uniting to make the 1% pay their fair share so we can have an economy and a nation that works for everyone (not just the richest 1%). An arbitrator has ordered the State of Maine to reinstate, with back pay, a Maine Bureau of Insurance worker whom it fired in 2010 for marrying an insurance company manager two years earlier. "No one can believe I got fired just because of my marriage, but it's true," said Michael Nadeau, the reinstated (married!) Maine Bureau of Insurance worker.
On November 17th, nearly 1,000 people were arrested as more than 50,000 protestors at three dozen bridges nationwide declared an "Economic Emergency for the 99%." Rallies and marches accompanied these bridge actions across more than 20 states, including AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, IA, IL, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MT, NH, NM, NY, OH, PA, TX, VA, WA and WI.
