A snowstorm may have closed down schools and the federal government on Tuesday, January 21, but there was no snow day for a delegation of SEIU Healthcare Illinois home care workers and consumers who traveled to Washington, D.C., to be on hand for the oral arguments in the Harris v. Quinn case going before the U.S. Supreme Court.
On January 21, 2014, the Supreme Court will hear Harris v. Quinn, a case brought by the National Right to Work Committee, an extreme right-wing think tank. This case threatens home care workers' right to collectively bargain with states to improve working conditions.
